We’ve put together some basic information on ABN and GST for you to look over, but for more details or advice, we suggest consulting an accountant.

What is an ABN?

An Australian Business Number (ABN) is an 11-digit number registered to business entities, which helps to identify businesses and organisations.

Do I need to have an ABN?

The following need to have ABNs:

  • Entities with businesses or other enterprises within Australia

  • Creators with consistent influencer income (from TRIBE and other sources)

What is GST?

Goods and services tax (GST) is a 10% tax on goods and services that are consumed or sold within Australia. See here for a beginner’s guide.

Do I need to be GST-registered?

If your income under an ABN within a financial year is over AUD $75,000, you need to register for GST. Consult your accountant for advice.

Once you are registered for GST, edit your profile to provide your ABN under PAYMENT DETAILS on the TRIBE app. Tap on the slider to indicate that you are GST-registered.

Doing this will allow us to issue you the correct invoices, inclusive of GST.

If you have other tax-related questions that are not included here, we recommend consulting an accountant for advice.
