How to publish your YouTube Short in the TRIBE app

Publish your YouTube Short in the TRIBE app, link it to the right brand, and complete your submission.

To finish publishing your YouTube Short on TRIBE, you’ll need to complete a few steps in the TRIBE app.

These steps include linking your Short to the brand partner within YouTube. This connects your Short to the brand so TRIBE can track how your content performs. If you haven't done this yet, we'll walk you through it below.

First, make sure:

  • Your submission has been approved on TRIBE

  • You're posting from the same YouTube channel as your submission.

How to publish your Short in TRIBE

Step 1: Open your approved submission in the TRIBE app and tap Publish to YouTube.

Step 2: On the Remember & Terms screen, tap Accept.

Step 3: Publish your content on YouTube. Remember to link your Short to the correct brand within the Paid promotion & brands tab. Set your video to Public, copy the video URL then return to the TRIBE app.

Step 4: On the Caption Copied screen, paste your YouTube Short URL and tap My Content is Live.

Step 5: Next, you'll be asked whether you've linked your video to the brand on YouTube. Tap Yes I have. If you missed this step when uploading your Short, tap No I forgot and see Linking your Short to the brand section below. TRIBE will always check whether your content is linked once your content is live.

Step 6: After TRIBE checks your submission, you'll see one of two confirmation screens depending on whether your Short is linked. Make sure you have successfully linked your content as soon as possible to avoid any payout delays.

Linking your Short to the brand

If your Short isn't linked to the brand, you'll need to do this within YouTube. There are two ways to complete this step:

Using the YouTube Studio notification

Step 1: Open the YouTube Studio app. The notification appears here, not in the main YouTube app.

Step 2: Tap it to open the Paid promotion and brands screen for your video.

Step 3: Find the brand request, tap I agree, then save your changes.

Step 4: Back in the TRIBE app, tap My video is linked.

Linking manually

If the notification doesn't appear, you can link the video yourself:

Step 1: Open your Short in YouTube and tap Edit.

Step 2: Go to Paid promotion & brands and select the correct brand (campaign code) to share access.

Step 3: Once confirmed, tap Share access and remember to Save changes.

Step 4: Once your Short is linked, you should be able to see the correct partnership under the Paid promotion & brands tab.

Troubleshooting

Published but not linked

A red❗on your submission usually means that the video hasn’t been correctly linked to the brand. You will receive a notification roughly one hour after submission if your video does not have an active brand collaboration.

To link or re-link your Short to the brand within the YouTube app, Edit your video and navigate to the Paid promotion and brands to select the correct partnership. See Linking your Short to the brand above.

Once you have successfully linked your Short within YouTube, return to the TRIBE app and tap the❗to complete the process.

You've linked your video but the alert is still showing

Check you selected the correct campaign code in YouTube. You will find it in your TRIBE Messages, from when your submission was approved. The brand or code you pick in YouTube must match this.

Your URL won't submit

Make sure your Short is live, set to Public, uploaded to the same channel you used for your submission and hasn’t already been used for another submission. If it's still rejected, double-check you have copied the full Short URL from the right channel, including the video ID.

(eg. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/qJjP8dLIyX0 - qJjP8dLIyX0 is the video ID)

Important

Please don't unlink your video from the brand on YouTube once the partnership is complete unless TRIBE asks you to. If you do, TRIBE can no longer track how your video is performing, and you may not be able to link the same video back to that campaign.

Looking to add a clickable link to the brand's website on your Short? That's a separate feature. See [How to add a brand link to your YouTube Short].
